problems with (certain internet-access providers or ) alcatel modems

Sometimes i had to manually reset (power cycle) the modem.

I found an alternative, reboot it from remote.

resetting a session ?

• reconfig the ether card. (since the start-pppoe keeps resetting it, stop it)

  ifconfig eth0 10.0.0.1
  ifconfig eth0 arp
  ifconfig eth0 broadcast
  

• telnet to the modem:

  telnet 10.0.0.138
